

Introduction to the Community Families Programme
In
2002, Docklands Outreach set up the Community Families programme in
order to work with families experiencing a range of difficulties in
their daily lives.
Offering a free and confidential “early intervention”
service; the aim is to break the cycle of disadvantage before it
becomes magnified in the longer term.
How we work
Our
work with families is based on our ethos of providing a personal,
friendly and tailor made programme of initiatives over a set period of
time.
By building a unique partnership of trust and transparency, Community
Families ensures that the needs of our families are the heartbeat of
our day-to-day work. We are dedicated to our community, our children
and our families.

who is eligible?
Any parent, carer or guardian with a child or children aged between 5 and 13 years.

making a referral
There are two types of referrals to Community Families, anyone fitting the criteria set out above may refer themselves to us and any organisation concerned with a family or family member may also refer to us

From 2004 to 2005 we engaged with 3600 young people within the London Borough of Tower hamlets.
