What is Peer Education?
Peer Education is students learning from other young people. The goal is to help young people to develop the tools needed for making informed choices and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, thus functioning more effectively with others and in groups. Peer educators are trained by Docklands Outreach to facilitate fun, educational programmes for other young people..

Why be a Peer Educator?
At Docklands Outreach the Peer Education team provides a way for young people to come together socially, to gain life skills in leadership, responisibility, organisation and networking. The peer workers involved in this programme are motivatred by personal experience and the desire to improve lifestyles for themselves and their peers. Peer workers play a very active leadership role and learn a great deal from their participation. Not only do they become more educated on youth health issues, but they also develop self confidence, public speaking, group facilitation and communication skills. The Dockalnds Outreach Peer Education Team is a great way to make friends and help other young people. We not only make a difference in the community ... We also have a lot of fun!.
